We present the dielectric relaxation properties of ferroelectric smectic-A (SmAP F ) phase formed by a mixture bent-shaped dimeric molecules α,ω-bis(4-alkoxyanilinebenzylidene-4′-carbonyloxy)pentanes with different alkyl chain lengths.

Nematic fluids with polar order could be most useful new molecular materials. However, such ferroelectric liquid crystals have not been observed as yet.
